Plasticon conference & awards 2014
After every successful large-scale event, we always think about ways to make it even better the following year. Building in the wow factor is essential – it’s what gives your event the edge.
For 2014, GPCA (Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association) partnered with the Sharjah Expo Center (ECS) to twin Plasticon with the Plastivision Exhibition in Dubai. Almost 7,000 visitors – twice the previous number - attended this event, which was spread over three extensive exhibition halls.
We worked in conjunction with the ECS team to build an immersive presentation environment to accommodate the expected doubling in the amount of delegates. Utilising a semi-circular stage and white drapes around the room helped create a fantastic ‘space-within-a-space’ experience for delegates and presenters alike.
In addition, new for 2014, we introduced our Smoke Signal product to allow both live twitter relay and to function as a Q&A mechanism for the audience-to-stage interaction.
One of our motion graphics editors was on-site to create a curtain raiser video and awards ceremony bumpers as required. This allowed us to accommodate last minute changes easily, whilst retaining the wow factor that motion graphics has over more traditional approaches.
From both a technological and experiential point of view, the 2014 event raised the bar considerably, delivering yet another extremely successful, high end event to the Middle East.
