Annual Conference 2014
We have worked with the CIPD since 1995 – but we never take anything for granted. So when we were asked to produce the CIPD Scotland event for 2014, we knew that we had to make it memorable.
In the iconic Victorian setting of the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, we provided equipment, sets and technical support for the two-day conference and exhibition. The highlight was in the Grand Ballroom, where we erected a stage wall with two 10-foot screens for back projection, complete with graphics, full lighting and audio/visual support for an audience of 280. Throughout the event, this stage served as the backdrop for some very impressive presentations by representatives from the NHS, Scottish Government, Google, and Facebook.
In the evening, the Grand Ballroom was transformed into a sophisticated dinner setting to welcome 150 distinguished guests and raise money for Combat Stress, the veterans' mental health charity for British servicemen. The night was a huge success, with over £6,000 raised.
Alongside the main room, we also decked out a smaller auditorium and two breakout rooms for a variety of sessions, featuring speakers and demonstrations from BT, Scottish Enterprise and CIPD. All of the sessions were extremely popular; luckily we were well prepared and the speakers enjoyed a full house!
